Accessible activities for the whole family, even in winter

To make the most of a weekend or a visit to Québec, discover five accessible tourist attractions and sites to enjoy with your family, any season of the year.

Aquarium du Québec • Québec City

For anyone fascinated by the ocean floor, a visit to Québec’s only aquarium is a must. It features more than 10,000 marine animals divided into 300 species. Mammals, native and non-native fish, invertebrates, amphibians and reptiles await you. For people using a mobility aid, it is important to note that the outdoor pathways have steep slopes, requiring the assistance of a companion. To check out the temporary activities available, go to the Sépaq website.

Sentier des cimes – Laurentides • Saint-Faustin–Lac-Carré

Located in the Laurentides region, the Sentier des cimes is a beautiful spot to take a walk. When you arrive, there is a steep slope (24%) leading to the ticket office. On request, you can use the elevator located on the parking level for easier access to the ticket office. From there, you can reach the walkway. There are a few rest areas and interpretive panels along this path, which leads to the observation tower. The tower has 12 floors with 6% slopes. At the top, you will be met with a breathtaking, panoramic view. The site is open year-round, so you can take in the changing seasons in all their splendour. Parc le Trou de la Fée • Desbiens

Nestled in the heart of nature, this tourist site offers activities for all tastes. Consult the park map to view the different activities available. Please note that the cave is not accessible to strollers or people with reduced mobility because it is located in a canyon with difficult access. People with reduced mobility can tour the cave and fly over the Metabetchouane river thanks to virtual reality, using Oculus headsets. Before you go, find out more by consulting the frequently asked questions.

Espace pour la vie, Insectarium • Montréal

The Insectarium offers an unexpected and fascinating sensory experience. While all of the exhibits are accessible, some of the spaces may feel less adapted to certain visitors. Keep in mind that the immersive experience in the cave-like rooms with lower lighting may require people with visual or motor impairments to pay closer attention. Tactile markers have been installed in spots where there are obstacles or hazards in the darker areas. The exhibition in the Dome is best viewed standing back from it for the full effect. The more curious can take a close-up look, or learn about the details of the insects on display using the touch screens available. You will have a whole new perspective on insects by the time you leave! Before your visit, consider downloading the Space for Life app on your mobile device to access additional content.
